Many, all too often, write to complain about service, but people rarely write a company to compliment someone; I will be that exception.
I recently needed to sell my waterfront house at Smith Mountain Lake. Having been a property manager of 450 properties and been responsible for finding properties for investors, as well as purchasing properties myself to rehab, I am quite familiar with the process. I am also aware of the impact and importance of the use of current technology involving the web and other implements to help sell real estate.
In my research I was fortunate enough to find someone who met my criteria. I personally interviewed that person and was even more impressed with the methodology she used in selling property. That person was Kathryn Curling and in meeting her she impressed me with her techniques, knowledge and energy.
As it happened, then the real estate market took a serious plummet and it became even more difficult to sell any real estate, let alone one whose best use was as a second or vacation home. To make matters more difficult I then moved from Virginia to Florida for business reasons.
To make a long story short, in a difficult market and through other tribulations, Ms. Curling sold my house. Making the sale even more difficult was that it had to be sold as a “short” sale, which meant selling for less than the mortgage on the house. This is a very time-consuming and knowledge specific type of sale, and even though this was the first “short” sale in her career, she learned what she needed to know and liaised between the mortgage company and me to consummate a successful sale.
I cannot give enough praise to the diligence, the expertise, the integrity and the constant and accurate communication that Ms. Curling provided in this transaction. She earned every penny of her commission. Thank you Kathryn for a “job well done”.
